Governor of Kaduna State Malam Nasir El-Rufai has warned the people of Kaduna State against any form of revenge due to the Hausa-Yoruba clash in Ile-Ife.

Following the clash, several videos and pictures has been posted online with the aim of steering the citizens of Kaduna State to avenge the killings in Ile-Ife Osun State.

His spokesperson, Samuel Aruwan, said in a statement on Monday in Kaduna that the governor stressed that anyone found appealing for revenge will be arrested and prosecuted.

“Already, the unfortunate incidents in that part of the country have been contained and taken care of, so the government would not watch enemies of peace capitalizing on the situation to cause problems in Kaduna State using images and videos calling for reprisals,” the Kaduna Security Council said.

“People circulating images and calling for reprisals are enemies of peaceful society, and all citizens must say no to them. The Security Council is determined to ensure that anyone or group of persons distributing images and videos calling for revenge are arrested and prosecuted.

“Citizens must support the government to ensure that every threat to law and order in the state is defeated.”
