An Ife monarch, the Oloyere of Oyere, Oba Adeoye Adefarakin has been remanded in prison custody on the order of Chief Magistrate, Aderonke Olowolagba, over an Ewi conundrum which allegedly maligned the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, OSUN DEFENDER gathered.

Oba Adeoye Adefarakin was said to have been remanded last Friday which coincided with his 63-year birthday on the order of the court for allegedly masterminding an ewi exponent which was allegedly used to malign the personality of the supreme monarch of the land.

It was further learnt that Oba Adeoye Adefarakin allegedly colluded with the author of the ewi exponent titled “Oba Awakusa” which was at large to defame Oba Enitan Ogunwusi and other Ife personalities.

At the arraignment of the monarch, last Friday, it was gathered that the monarch pleaded not guilty to all charges against him and he was to be remanded at the Ile-Ife prison custody, while the bail conditions will be perfected as demanded by the court.

Earlier development revealed that the said Ewi exponent is not unconnected with the Ooni ascendancy tussle which later snowballed into the current matter.

An Ife socialite who preferred anonymity revealed that the issue is an in-house matter and it will soon be resolved as Ifeland needs peace for its development and growth at this time.

The matter was said to have been adjourned till March 16, 2018 for hearing.
