Ife Central Chair Reiterates Commitment To Community Development

The Chairman, Ife Central Local Government, Hon. Elugbaju Olayera has reiterated the commitment of his administration to make life meaningful for the people of the council area.

According to a statement by the Information Officer of the council, Salami Ademola, Elugbaju made this assurance at Otun-Maye Community Development Hall, where he was received by the people of the community led by Elder Emmanuel Akintunde and the Ife Central Local Government CDC Chairman, Alhaji Sikiru Balogun, during his inspection tour of on-going projects across the wards within the council area.

Elugbaju, accompanied by his cabinet members and the local government principal officers visited the site of a transformer facilitated by the senator representing Osun West, Senator Babajide Omoworare at Powerline unit II, old Ibadan road Ajebamidele, as well as MDGs hospital at the same area.

The inspection team moved to Global Estate, Zone 3, where the residents appealed to the council to construct a bridge across Opa river.

The team also visited Women Development and Skills acquisition centre also facilitated by Senator Omoworare at Ajebamidele, where Hon. Elugbaju promised to discuss the issue with the Senator for proper handling over of the multi-million naira completed and well equipped women center for the use of the community.

At Ita-Odan, Alh. Balogun conducted the inspection team round the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency hospital, abandoned since 2009.

Similarly, an e-library project, completed and well equipped but not handed over was visited by Hon. Elugbaju-led inspection team, where the Chairman ordered the immediate clearing of bush surrounding the edifice to prevent been burnt by bush meat hunters.

The inspection train moved to the resident of Oba-Kole Ojutalayo, Laroka

of Iwanikin in Ajebamidele where the team was shown round the flooded area as a result of fallen big trees which has been obstructing the flowing of water.

Elugbaju, while speaking, eulogized the community leaders for their untiring efforts towards the development of lIe-lfe, urging them to further support the government of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

He promised to liaise with all the necessary agencies and individuals involved in the ongoing projects with a view to bringing dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the people.

He said his administration would continue to show commitment to the plight of the people in line with the mandate of the people who elected them in office.
