Hot Weather Forces Rescheduling Of Two LaLiga Games

The kickoff of two matches have been rescheduled in the Spanish leagues this weekend because the organisers have deemed 30 degrees celsius too hot a weather for football in the cities concerned.

According to Marca, the start of the Sevilla vs Villarreal in LaLiga Santander, originally set for kick-off on Sunday, August 26 at 8:15 pm CET, has been put back to 10:15 pm CET on the same day, due to the forecast of high temperatures.

The match corresponds to the second matchday of LaLiga Santander, which begins on Friday August 24 with Getafe vs Eibar, and ends on Monday, August 27 with the Athletic Club vs Huesca fixture.

A Segunda Division game – Extremadura vs Depor – has also had its start time changed for the same reason.

In the last few seasons, only three matches have been played when temperatures have been over 30 degrees, which is something LaLiga Santander have wanted to avoid, hence the schedule changes.
