Herb Seller Gets 28 Months Imprisonment Over Alleged Burglary

A Magistrate Court in Osogbo, capital of the State of Osun has sentenced a 33-year-old herb seller, Qomarudeen Abudulfatai to 28 months imprisonment for burgling a residential building and carting away valuable items and cash.
Prosecutor Rasaq Lamidi informed the court that Abdulfatai broke into the home of one Oyebola Johnson Olarewaju of Agojesu Area, Iludun Quarters, Osogbo on May 11, 2017 and carted away his belongings.
The stolen items included one Galaxy Samsung S7 Edge phone valued N350,000, one Bontel phone valued N25,000, One bag valued N10,000, one complete male dress valued N20,000, a cash sum of N150,000 and one HP laptop computer valued N250,000 totalling N805,000.
Lamidi said the convict, in conspiracy with others at large committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 410, 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap. 34 vol. II, laws of Osun State Nigeria, 2003.
Abdulfatai pleaded guilty to the two count charge leveled against him.
In his ruling,  Magistrate Tunde Badmus after convicting Abdulfatai on the two count, sentenced him to 16 months imprisonment with an opinion of N10,000 fine on the first count and 12 months imprisonment without any option of fine on the second charge.
