Suspected gunmen have killed two persons and abducted three others in Alapata village of Modakeke, State of Osun.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Saturday when the farmers were working.
It was learnt that one of the abducted farmers escaped from the captivity and raised the alarm.
A credible source in the community said, “One of the farmers that were abducted by the gunmen escaped and came to meet us, telling us that they were attacked by gunmen.
“We immediately arranged a search team in connection with the police to rescue the abducted farmers.
“We discovered two corpses of a male and female when we are searching for those that were abducted by the gunmen.
“The corpses of the two-person have been deposited at Obafemi Awolowo University hospital, Ile-Ife.
“One of the abducted victims is still with the gunmen.”
It was further gathered one female kidnapped victim escaped from the captivity of the gunmen with wounds and told the community leaders that there is one person left with the gunmen.
Osun Police Spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident to newsmen on Sunday.
