Governor AbdulRazaq Launches Action Plan On Women, Peace, Security

Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has launched the state’s Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security.

The scheme among other things will provide more avenue for women to contribute to programmes aimed at ensuring peace and security in the state.

Represented by the commissioner for women affairs, Mrs Risikatu Bashir, the governor restated the commitment of his administration to the implementation of programmes that would ensure peaceful society and secure humanity.

AbdulRazaq said his administration deliberately appointed women into strategic positions of authority to enable them contribute to issue that affects the wellbeing and development of the women folk.

He added that the state government had also put in place measures to ensure women’s participation in peace building process.

Also speaking at the event, the president of the National Council for Women Society (NCWS), Hajiya Zainab Audu-Abdullahi, appealed to women to contribute their quota toward the actualization of programmes that affect them.
