The Forum of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries appointed by the immediate past Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s administration in the State of Osun has pledged its absolute loyalty to the present administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
The Forum stated this on Tuesday while on a solidarity visit to the state helmsman at the Governor’s office in Osogbo, the state capital.
Speaking through its Chairman, the immediate past Head of Service, State of Osun, Mr. Sunday Olayinka Owoeye, the forum congratulated the Governor on the success secured at the Court of Appeal in Abuja which upheld his victory at the September 22nd and 27th 2018 Gubernatorial Elections.
Mr. Owoeye who said what the Almighty God has ordained, no man can destroy, described Governor Gboyega Oyetola as a philosopher king which that great philosopher, Plato described as the best to rule to guarantee the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people, assured the Governor of their total commitment to the success of his administration.
In his response, the Governor, State of Osun, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola ascribed his recent victory at the Court of Appeal in Abuja to God Almighty, stressing that the the court judgement has affirmed that indeed he won the last September 2018 governorship election fair and square.
He commended the retired Head of Service and Permanent Secretaries for giving the state their best while in active service, maintaining that he will justify the confidence reposed in him by the good people of Osun.
The Governor assured his visitors that he will not hesitate to tap from their wealth of technocracy, credentials and experience which he stressed will be of great benefit to the Land of Virtue.
Governor Oyetola who commended the retired senior public servants for standing by his administration, enjoined them not to rest on their oars at ensuring that they come up with ideas that can be of immense advantage to the State of Osun in line with the inclusive participatory governance initiative of his administration.
In his welcome address at the programme, the State Head of Service, Dr. Olowogboyega Oyebade told the Governor that the solidarity visit of the retired top echelon of the service became inevitable with a view to appreciating Almighty God in his life, citing the trajectory of his emergence right from the period when he served the last administration as Chief of Staff till date, confirms that indeed the promise God Almighty (Ileri Oluwa) is at work.
Dr. Oyebade who presented members of the forum to the Governor, went down memory lane as to how they emerged through a competitive screening process, appreciating the Governor for the immeasurable support received from him by the forum which saw one of them emerge as a Senator Elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which he said is an attestation to their quality, maintaining that the men and women though retired are never tired to serve their father land in whatever capacity their services may be needed.
