The Federal Government through the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) has donated sports equipment to about 50 public primary schools in Ogun State.

The  chief executive  of the  NLTF, Ahmed Gumel,  who handed over the equipment to the Deputy Governor of the state,  Mrs.  Yetunde Onanuga, who represented Governor Ibikunke Amosun,   said they were purchased from funds realised from  the national lottery.

The equipment which were presented to the state government at the MKO Stadium included handball, basketball, football, volleyball, table tennis, athletics, badminton and taekwando equipment.

Ahmed said Section 40(a) of the National Lottery Act 2005 empowers NLTF to use  proceeds from all national lottery operations for  good  projects in  the country.

Gumel said President Muhammadu Buhari was committed to the development of grassroots sports in the country, hence the Federal Government decided to equip public primary schools  with sports equipment.

Amosun commended the Federal Government for the equipment, saying the items would help the state to discover more indigenous talents.
