Ferguson Scolded Me For Many Stepovers – Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has been caught on camera doing a stepover at Juventus training –after revealing Sir Alex Ferguson gave him the hairdryer over doing too many of them in his early Manchester United years, The Sun reports.

The Portuguese superstar is arguably the brightest gem of them all polished by Ferguson, who ruled the roost at Old Trafford for 26 years.

After signing from Sporting Lisbon in 2003 and inheriting David Beckham’s No.7 shirt at the age of 18, Ronaldo was certainly a rough diamond.

But Ferguson polished him into a brilliant player, a Ballon d’Or winner and Champions League winner at United, as Ronny netted a sensational 42 goals in the 2007-08 season.

After winning three Champions League titles on the bounce at Real Madrid, the 33-year-old decided to move on to Juventus this summer.

Ronaldo told DAZN, “Of course in the beginning of my career he was so important to me because I moved from Sporting to Manchester and had that Portuguese mentality “Too many stepovers, decision making was not the best.

“He taught me how to do it.

In the Premier League, they don’t fall over so easy, they are tough.

“As I’ve said many times, he taught me everything. He was like a father to me. He helped me a lot at Manchester United.”

Meanwhile, Ronaldo admits it is his “dream” for his son to one day fill his boots and become a professional footballer.

He has often used social media to show the progress of his first-born child both on the football pitch and in the gym.

Footage of the young Cristiano went viral in April this year when the eight-year-old showcased his skills on the Bernabeu pitch during halftime of a Real Madrid game last season.

A future is already being mapped out by his father, who completed a £105m move to Juventus in the summer.
