Federal Poly, Ede Does Not Fail Students – Admission Officer

The Admission Officer of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Mrs. Bolaji Olufunke, has denied reports that the institution by design failed eighty percent of the Post-UTME candidates.

Mrs. Bolaji, who was represented by her assistant, Mr. Afolabi Samuel Opeyemi, disclosed to OSUN DEFENDER that though the performances of the candidates were a bit low when compared to the last Post-UTME examinations, saying that there were some students who made brilliant results to earn them admission into the school.

She hinted that the institution has a basic admission cut-off-mark that is keenly contested for, with adequate level of seriousness by the students, stating that the institution has made pre-degree courses available for the students, whose results were below the cut-off mark, with strict compliances to checkmate any form of irregularities during the screening of their credentials.

Bolaji further stated that the provision became imperative for the management, in order to bring relief to the students, who have been looking for admission.

The admission officer maintained that the institution is poised to give better education and make it accessible for admission-seeking students.

Speaking on reduction of tuition fees of Osun State University, she commended the state governor for the reduction, saying the action would give the less-privileged students hope and relief in payment of their fees in time.

She added that the reduction would not in any way affect the academic quality of the institution.
“Students should maintain discipline, avoid engagements that would make them jeopardize their parents’ efforts on them”, she advised.
