Fayose’s ‘Police Beat Me’ Claim, Comedy Of The Year – APC

The Ekiti State chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Jide Awe, has said what transpired between the governor and the Police during a campaign rally of the People’s Democratic Party could be described as the “comedy of the year.”

Governor Ayo Fayose, on Wednesday, said he was brutalised by policemen who allegedly stormed the main entrance to the Ekiti State Government House to stop a rally by the Peoples Democratic Party.

Residents said gunshots were fired at the main entrance to the Government House, while tear gas canisters were reportedly shot to disperse the crowd at the rally.

However, Awe said, “It is entirely a security matter. The governor is the Chief Security Officer and should know how to conduct himself properly in the public.

“Probably it was part of the instruction given to the Police as the chief security officer that led to the situation.”

A tweeter user who goes by the name, Red Harpoon, @redhapoon, who also thinks the actions of the governor were overly dramatised, described the incident as an ongoing ‘Nollywood audition.’

He tweeted:

Nollywood audition now on! Are you a talented budding movie star? Do you have what it takes to join Nigerian movie industry? Venue: Ekiti government house.Time: 12pm. Date:14/07/18. Please come along with white T-shirts and anything that can hang your neck. @nairaland

Another tweeter user, Japhet Omojuwa, @omojuwa, in a tweet said, “There is nothing happening in Ekiti except for those who are either fooled by Fayose or those who are desperate to see something where nothing exists.”

@Omojuwa

There is nothing happening in Ekiti except for those who are either fooled by Fayose or those who are desperate to see something where nothing exists. This tweet by @etinmagbe sums his gimmicks up. https://twitter.com/etinmagbe/status/1017124929907683328

That Andy@AndyMadaki

Whatever is happening in Ekiti State is a window to 2019 elections. Surprised it is funny to some of you, for me it is scary. You don’t need to like or hate Fayose, what we allow today will continue tomorrow.

I can even forgive those who believe Fayose’s tear gas story.

However, if you believe that Police slapped Fayose, a sitting Governor, and shot at him, then you are dumber than your smartphone.

Ayekooto@DeeOneAyekooto

Fayose said Police fired teargass at the crowd of the PDP, unfortunately, only Fayose was hit. Lol.

No wonder, Oshiomhole said Fayose speaks like Armed Robber. He raises alarm to divert attention. pic.twitter.com/BwTSNhn5Xj

SAGE.@olufisiayomi

Sooo…
-tear gas hit ONLY Fayose leaving evryone else intact.
-his security detail watched as he was “attacked & pulled to the ground” [a whole sitting governor]
-No melee ensued, meaning they were all complicit?
-Lol, this gutter politics again. Appalling attempt.

Oluyemi Fasipe ??@YemieFASH

I just got off phone with @OlayinkaLere and he confirmed to me that Security operatives with orders from above attacked the Ekiti government house, beat up and Teargassed @GovAyoFayose and pulled him to the floor. This is undemocratic !
