F.C.E Iwo: Adeoti Expresses Gratitude To Buhari, Oyetola

A frontline politician and an indigene of Iwo, Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti has expressed his personal gratitude, as well as those of other indigenes of Iwo, to President Muhammadu Buhari, for approving Iwo as the final location of the Federal College of Education with support from the Governor of the State of Osun, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.
He also congratulated the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu 1, traditional rulers in Iwo area and others for the success recorded in the final siting of the Federal College of Education in Iwo.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by his Press Officer, Kayode Agbaje and made available to journalists in Osogbo, the State of Osun capital.
According to Alhaji Adeoti, the success of the struggle to have the Federal College of Education sited in Iwo has shown what could be achieved should the people act together in unity for a common purpose.
He stated that though the struggle for the ancient town to be the final choice for the location of the federal college was championed by the Oluwo with the support of prominent indigenes of the town, there were others who worked underground to see to the success of the struggle.
“Though the struggle to have the college sited in Iwo was championed by the Oluwo and other prominent indigenes of the town, including my humble self, there was also the immediate-past Chief of Staff to the President, Alhaji Abba Kyari of blessed memory among many others in the Presidency, who worked assiduously to ensure that Iwo was finally approved as final location of the Federal College of Education.
“The efforts of such individuals like the Late Kyari and the current Chairman of the National Directorate of Employment, Alhaji Ismail Argungu should also not go unmentioned as they played prominent roles in favour of Iwo as the final location for the proposed college,” Alhaji Adeoti stressed.
He further eulogised the roles played by members of bodies like the Iwo Action (IWAC) Council and Iwo Board of Trustees (IBOT) that culminated in the siting of the college in Iwo.
“Efforts made by members of Iwo Action Council (IWAC) and Iwo Board of Trustees (IBOT) shouldn’t go unmentioned in the numerous efforts made in the struggle to have the institution sited in Iwo,” he said.
He therefore enjoined all residents and indigenes of Iwo and its environs to display their common traits of Omoluabi for which the area is well-known to all staff and students when the college eventually takes off.
