As Muslims the world over celebrate Eid-El-Fitr, the Commissioner for Yourhs and Sports in the State of Osun, Hon Abdulazeez Yemi Lawal has congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan Fast.

In a statement, Lawal urged adherents of Islam to remain committed to the teachings and the valuable lessons inherent in the just concluded spiritual exercise.

The commissioner noted that the virtues of piety, perseverance, resolve to embrace good deeds, sacrifice and patience which they portrayed during the holy month should extend to other months.

Yemi Lawal charged them to be more tolerant and imbibe the spirit of brotherliness as the world battles the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The holy month taught us to be more pious, dedicated and committed to the cause of Islam. It is important for us all to embrace love and togetherness between one another. The COVID-19 pandemic has enabled us to show more compassion and empathy to the less privileged.”

“It is a time for prayers and continued reflection of Allah’s goodness to mankind. We should all support government and obey all guidelines to protect us and our families. Let the bond we have created between ourselves surpass this month.”

Yemi Lawal also took the opportunity to appreciate Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s exemplary leadership in combating the Covid-19 scourge in the state.

“The Governor of the state of Osun has done remarkably well in stemming the tide of the Coronavirus in our state. Let’s join hands with him to make our state free of the novel virus. We should all stay home and stay safe,” he concluded.
