Administration of Honourable Sikiru Adewale in Ede East Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of the State of Osun has embarked on sinking of Motorized Boreholes, massive grading of roads and demarcation of market with galvanized net.

According to a statement by the council’s Information Officer, Hammed Oyeniyi, the Council Chairman, during his on-the-spot assessment stated that he embarked on the projects in line with the six-points Integral Action Plan of the Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s administration in the state.

He stated: “Health is wealth, hence, provision of drinkable water will lead to healthy living and this will prevent outbreak of diseases in the council”.

According to him, rapid development going on at the grassroot has justified the creation of LCDAs by the administration of Aregbesola, saying, the gesture has brought government closer to the people.

He however stated that his administration has been able to provide drinkable water through sinking of motorized boreholes at Alajue Amosun community, Idiigba community and Egbeda Loogun community with the promise to extend same to other communities which are in dear need of drinkable water.

The council boss further stated that his administration has embarked on massive grading of roads across the towns and villages in the LCDA, saying the roads graded include, Egbeda Loogun to Ayedaade Boundary, Araromi Loogun to Sekona, Redeemer University Junction to Ogobi Oja, Akoda to Gaga, Odansidi to Bepo Junction, Sekona to Lasubu, Mogaji Olodan to Alajue, and Oteda community among others.

He said, his administration embarked on massive grading of roads due to the nature of the LCDA which is dominated by farmers to guarantee easy transportation of their farm produce to the nearest cities and markets.

This, according to him would motivate farmers to put more efforts in their production once they are rest assured of easy transportation of such produce for sales.

The council boss also noted that, to prevent loss of lives and properties in the LCDA, his administration has been able to demarcate the two sides of Sekona market with galvanized net, saying, this will prevent the marketers and would-be buyers from transacting business along the road so as not to endanger their lives and properties.

The Council Chairman appreciated the people of the area for their unalloyed support and cooperation since he assumed office and urged them to continue their support for the APC led government at Federal, State and Local level, saying, this will guarantee continuing developmental projects going on across the state, federal and council area.

He then enjoined the people to always perform their civic responsibilities by paying their taxes and other levies to government to execute more projects, just as he applauded the council’s staff members for their cooperation.

Among those on the entourage of the council boss were, the Leader of the council’s parliament, Honourable Mojeed Olatunde; Vice chairman, Hon. Sakariyau Saheed; Deputy Leader, Hon. Kareem Kabir; Member, Hon.(Mrs.) Oni Bukola.

Others were, Hon. Hammed Lateef, Secretary for Youth Affairs; Hon.(Mrs.) Adegboye  Alice, Secretary for Women Affairs; and the Council Manager, Mrs. Adedeji Eunice Ikeola who led other Head of Departments and Principal Officers.
