COVID-19: Osun NACOMYO Postpones All Programmes

The State of Osun Chapter of the National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations (NACOMYO) has postponed all its activities in the wake of the Novel Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world.

The umbrella body of all Muslim youths in the State in a statement on Friday postponed her routine rural Dawah, Executive meeting and State general meeting scheduled for Alajue, Ede South Local Government, Ede Zone on 11th and 12th April, 2020 in line with government’s directive to banning all social gatherings as a result of COVID-19.

A release jointly issued by her State Coordinator, Alhaji Jamiu Adeyemi and the State Secretary, Mallam Lukman Aderibigbe in Osogbo said the decision was imperative as the health of the society is more superior than other engagements.

The council backed all steps taken by government to safeguard lives urging Muslims to adhere strictly to them. 

The release said “The Council agreed that as critical stakeholders, we owe all human endeavour the duty and concern on special well being of which health is superior for we all accept the saying.   ” health is wealth”.

The core duty of ours is to preach peace (Islam) which covers healthy living among other things.”

“We hereby wish to commend government at different levels, especially our noble State Government led by a Godly guided,guarded and well focused man, Alhaji Isiaq Adegboyega Oyetola who never spare a moment against the spread of the pandemic in our State.”

“The Council at this juncture is supporting all steps being taken by the government and ready to offer any service as may be required at her end to curb the spread of the disease.  Osun NACOMYO equally lauded the State Government effort in constituting a 21-man Committee  on food and relief materials during this lockdown period. The Committee is hereby charged to be God fearing in discharging her  duty.”

The group advised all residents of the state to ensure compliance with the precautionary measures as advised by experts while praying to Allah for a permanent solution to the global health crisis.
