The All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state of Osun has called on the citizens to engage themselves for the next few days in counting their blessings.

In a statement signed by the party’s Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy,  Mr Kunle Oyatomi and made available to OSUN DEFENDER in Osogbo, the APC said, “unless we take stock, we will not appreciate what God has done for this state by installing Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as governor and leader of APC, the ruling party.

“This is necessary because an era of unprecedented happenings in the state is approaching a climax, and it is time the whole state should take stock.

“As reasonable and responsible people, how should we characterise this experience? How do we thank God for what has been done and achieved? Is the change we have experienced, good or bad, worthy or unworthy of our people? Now is the time to count our blessings to see what God has done for us.” the APC said.

The APC also urged the people of Osun to spend some quiet moments during the next few days in good conscience and ask themselves some critical questions which included “Is Osun better today than it was 10 years ago?

“Is it a good thing that this state is peaceful? Had God been kind to us for the good roads, the wonderful schools, the enabling environment for profitable business, the unprecedented human capital and environmental developments which Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola-led APC government has effected in Osun these past seven years?

“Look around you and ask yourself this question, why did those who had had the God-given opportunity to rule this state fail to do what Aregbesola  has done and is still doing?
Would you in good conscience be kind to yourself if you condemn and vilify the man and the government that have brought all these about? the APC further asked.

Meanwhile, the APC drew attention of the people of Osun to the fact that in the next eight months, the MKO Abiola International Airport will be operational in the state.

“Would the people of the state be fair to themselves if they refuse to acknowledge the fact that whoever it was that brought this development to Osogbo was a kind, thoughtful and progressive person? Are the people aware that the MKO Abiola International Airport is a catalyst for job creation and business expansion in the state?

“Do the people of Osun realise that when completed, that airport will be the first of its kind in Nigeria where all kinds of planes can be repaired? Why would anyone in this state be thinking of stopping the construction of that airport which will be built with investor’s money and will become the property of the state after 30 years? Isn’t it madness for anyone to be thinking this way?, the APC asked passionately.

“Now is the pivotal moment for the people of Osun to take a stand”, the party declared, adding that ‘those  who show gratitude to God for what He has done, will always receive more for as long as they hold on to and preserve the leadership that served the state conscientiously.”

The APC therefore urged the people to ‘give thanks to God for using Ogbeni Aregbesola and the APC government to bring to Osun in seven years, the kind of development that the state had never seen in 26 years.
