The people with disability have commended the Executive Secretary of Ede North Area Council, Hon. Mukaila Uthman (Beile) for approving the appointment of a Special Adviser on Disability Matter in the council.
The people with disabilities under the umbrella of Ede Disability Team lauded the council boss for extending his good works to nook and cranny of the council without discrimination or sentiment.
In a statement, the physically-challenged people appreciated the chairman for the appointment, describing it as a welcome development as this is the first of its kind.
According to the statement, the only person that made a promise to do a similar thing was the late Chairman, Boripe North LCDA, but he could not fulfill the promise due to his untimely death.
The appointment, the statement stressed would give room for adequate provisions and intervention for the people with disabilities.
The council boss, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of taking care of the people with disabilities as a matter of necessity, saying that he would not stop delivering on his electoral promises to the people.
“We shall continue to strive till our community become the best among the rest. We will not relent until we meet the needs of our people and ensure the adequate wellbeing of our people”, Uthman stressed.
