Community: Isokan South LCDA Reiterates Commitment To Revenue Generation Through Tourism

Chairman of Isokan South Local Council Development Area, Prince Wasiu Oyelami has disclosed that his administration would focus on generating revenue internally through tourism and promotion of African cultural heritage.

According to a statement by the council’s Head of Social Development and Information, Ademola Aminu the council chairman disclosed this at the annual Osun-Ikoyi festival head in Ikoyi-Ile recently.

According to him, the only way to ensure the development of the area has to make promotion of tradition and cultural heritage the main source of revenue generation for the council.

The council boss pledged to give adequate attention to the development of Osun-Ikoyi house/Ile-Osun Ikoyi, Ajegaji mountain, Ero-omo mountain, Amula mountain, a palm tree with two heads, and Ogun shrine in Kodaolu compound among others, to inculcate  Yoruba culture and tradition in the youth.

He reiterated his commitment to partner with traditional institutions on rejuvenating, developing and promoting the cultural heritage of the people.

He also congratulated the newly-elected governor of the state, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola and his deputy, Mr Benedict Alabi.

In his godwill message, the Olukoyi of Ikoyi Land, Oba Yisau Bamitale sought the assistance of stakeholders in promoting tourism sector and making it a main stay of economic development of the country.

He charged residents of the LCDA to always pay their taxes and dues as and when due in the interest of its development.
