A renowned Islamic cleric, Sheik Mustafa Ajisafe, who is the President – General, League of imams and Alfas of South-West, has called on both Federal and State Governments to provide job opportunities for Nigerian youths.

Sheik Ajisafe maintained that providing employment for young graduates would prevent them from becoming disgruntled elements in the society.

The cleric stated this while delivering a lecture titled “Unity of Muslims Ummah in Nigeria” at the Conference of National Council of Muslim Youth Organization (NACOMYO), held at National Youth Service Corps Ede, last Saturday.

Ajisafe said, “Government at all levels should provide employment for our young graduates so as to prevent idleness, which may lead them into becoming disgruntled elements in the society.”

However, Shiek Ajisafe enjoined the youths to always pray for the country with a view of solving the country’s social economic and political problems, which may eventually affect them as leaders of tomorrow.

The cleric stressed that the youths should shun all act of thuggery and hooliganism, which could destabilize the peaceful existence of the country, adding that they (youths) should imbibe good traits and forbid evils.

“Since education is cherished by all religions, youths are implored to see to the pursuance of education in all fields as a matter of duty.

“Youths should, in all respects disallow a situation whereby they will be used as political thugs by politicians.

“You are enjoined to always engage in activities that would foster peace in the country and denounce violence”, Ajisafe charged youths.
