A caretaker committee member in Olorunda Local Government Council Area of Osun State, Honourable Abdul-Lateef Adeyanju has called on Muslim faithful to cultivate the habit of Godliness as being thought by the holy month of Ramadan.
Adeyanju, in his Ramadan message to Muslim faithful, said that the habit they cultivate during Ramadan should be allowed to stay with them for the rest of their lives.
He also called on political office holders in the state to also follow the footsteps of Governor Rauf Aregbesola and have the fear of God in whatever they do, with a view to bringing the dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the people of the state.
Adeyanju, popularly known as Osupa, also appealed to workers in the state to show understanding with the state government on the strike action they embarked upon over the issue of the N18,000 minimum wage.
He stated that they should allow the government to implement the programmes that would eventually have trickle-down effect on the workers to the extent that they would be earning more than N18,000 as minimum wage.
Adeyanju further stated that the workers should not allow themselves to be used by those he termed the enemies of progress in the state.
According to him, the governor has been magnanimous enough to agree to implement the wage for workers between levels one and seven, and took time to explain that the resources of the state could not take care of the rest once and for all and as the resources improved, other workers would be taken care of.
Adeyanju said that with this explanation by the governor, the workers should sit at a round-table with the governor and find a way out of the problem.
