As part of efforts to encourage and empower Nigerian youths to embrace agriculture with reference to cassava farming, CAPFIS Enterprise Limited has introduced the Cassava Processing Facility Intervention Scheme.

The program seeks to engage about 34,000 youths selected from all parts of the country to undergo a two weeks intensive training on mechanized cassava production.

The Project has secured some 170,000 hectares of land in various states of the federation and the plan is to provide each participant with a five hectare allocation to produce cassava.

A monthly allowance of N20,000 alongside free accommodation will also be provided.

Equally, participants would receive a three-day bonus training on Snail and Catfish farming.

At the end of the harvest (8-9months), each farmer will earn approximately N1,000,000 as a reward for monitoring and nurturing their farmland.

Registration for the program is ongoing and would end on the 31st of December, 2016.
