President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday summoned his chief of staff, Abba Kyari, and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita, over their clash at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The Punch revealed that the fierce crossfire between Kyari and Oyo-Ita, which occurred shortly before the Federal Executive meeting, was believed to have been caused by the leaked memo, which Oyo-Ita sent to Kyari on the controversial reinstatement and posting of the embattled former chairman of the pension Reforms Commission, Abdulrasheed Maina.

The print media firm disclosed that there was drama inside the Council Chamber on Wednesday, as the Head of Service Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita and the Chief of Staff to the President Abba Kyari engaged in a heated argument over the leaked memo written by the Head of Service to President Muhammadu Buhari, indicating that the President was aware of the reinstatement of the sacked Abdulrashhed Maina to the civil service.

 

 

The Daily Sun shy away from describing yesterday’s incidence in a subtle manner, giving their readers an headline that read; Maina: Buhari’s Chief Of Staff, HOS In Verbal Fight. In details the story described that tempers flew yesterday, before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, when Head of Civil Service of the Federation Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, had heated exchanges with President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari. The reason for the argument is in line with those stated by previous new journals.

 

 

Still on Wednesday’s drama, The Guardian’s headline reads: Oyo-Ita Confronts Kyari At FEC. According to the paper, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoSF), Winifred Oyo-Ita, yesterday confronted the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting inside the council chambers of the Presidential Villa. It disclosed that the weekly Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting which started after the swearing-in of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, and the launch of 2018 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem witnessed a mild drama as the Head of Service, Mrs Winfred Oyo-Ita, and Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, were involved in a shouting match.

 

 

Moving Further from the FEC tango, The Nation reveals Anxiety Grips BANKS Over Nov.3 Deadline For BVN. It explained that banks were gripped by the fear of a major Liquidity crisis should the government pull out funds belonging to customers without Bank Verification Number (BVN). The deadline given by the court for such customers to lose their cash is tomorrow.

Further buttressing, the news said that but for the swift intervention of President Muhammadu Buhari the crisis rocking the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) would have consumed its national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Tuesday.
