Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ife North Local Government Council Area of Osun Sate, Honourable Lanre Ogunyimika, has expressed his faith in the fact that the vision of the founding fathers of Osun Sate, will blossom and be realised, under the administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
Ogunyimika, who disclosed this in a chat with OSUN DEFENDER, in Osogbo, during conferment of honours and awards on some eminent Osun State indigenes, who had made their marks in their chosen professions, in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the creation of the state, said the selfless leadership attributes of Ogbeni Aregbesola, would surely transform the state.
The council boss explained that the state governor knew his pact with the people of the state and how to accomplish it.
He said what was currently going on was a solid foundation-laying of the new Osun State, as the structure in place before the advent of this administration was shaky.
Ogunyimika enjoined residents of the state to continue to flow along with the Aregbesola administration in the genuine efforts of the leader of the team, to transform the state.
His words: “We are aware that the immediate past administration in the state had failed the people in all ramifications. Rather than lessening the burden of the people, it added to their problems.
“If a leader is upright, hardworking and trustworthy, his subordinates would see him as a role model to be emulated, which is the current scenario in the political theatre of Osun State.
“My resolution for my local government council area had been how its development would surpass others among the comity of states, making up the State of the Virtuous.
“It is a crime against humanity for a government to deny its people basic necessities of life. Governance is all about service to the people and not about diverting wealth meant for development of one’s constituency to personal affairs.”
Ogunyimika hinted that he would try all possible means to make sure that his council area becomes one of best-developed areas in Osun State during his tenure.
