Angry prospective Jamb candidate stormed the Joint Admission And Matriculation Board (JAMB), Makurdi Zonal office of the board, stoning and threatening to burn down the office over the hitches they are experiencing in the ongoing registration exercise. However, the quick intervention of the Police and officials of the Civil Defence Corps prevented the mob from razing the office complex after some windows had been smashed.

The youths then dismantled the board’s sign board and matched into the popular George Akume Road, where they made a bonfire which disrupted traffic on the road for several hours. The candidates later matched to the Benue State Government House, where they were addressed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Anthony Ijor (SAN), who urged them to remain calm, assuring that all their grievances would be addressed. Reacting, the Zonal Controller, JAMB, Samuel Umoro, advised the prospective candidates to be patient, assuring them that everybody would get registered, acknowledging hitches from the banks and partly from the candidates themselves.
