The Nigerian Air Force has said that its Air Task Force of operation Lafiya Dole has destroyed a Boko Haram camp and killed several terrorists at Ngwuri Gana in Borno state.

A video released by the Air Force shows structures said to belong to members of the terrorist group in the community being targeted with fighter jets and attack helicopters.

The operation according to the Director of Air Force Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, was carried out based on intelligence reports indicating that the settlement was one of the locations from where the insurgents launched attacks against troops’ positions and villages in the area.

“Accordingly, the ATF launched a coordinated attack on various targets within the settlement employing Alpha Jet and F-7Ni aircraft as well as Mi-35 attack helicopters leading to the destruction of BHT Communication Centre”.

He added that intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions later confirmed the report and also identified a suspected communications centre with Boko Haram flag and solar panels mounted.
