The newsround as confirmed by Jide Kosoko, the President of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP), reveals that hillarious and middle-aged actress and entertainer, Iyabo Momoh, alias “Mama Ajasco” of the popular Yoruba comedy (Baba Ajasco and company), has passed away last week wednesday, after a protracted illness and has since been buried according to muslim rites.
Fondly called Abeni Aworuru by her fans, she gave up the ghost at a private hospital in Lagos on Wednesday. Unconfirmed reports indicated that she died from complications arising from a swollen leg dieseas called elephantiasis.
Mama Ajasco would be greatly missed by all lover of yoruba comedy and soap opera television series, created by Wale Adenuga Productions WAP. She has been out of the limelight for bout a year now due to her forced health condition. She was buried on a plot of land near her residence, which she had bought in Ikorodu surburb, to build her first house.
